- Again, there is no proven market for these internet access boxes, chain
- stores are not going to try selling an unproven computer gimick. Beyond
- the fact that I dont think the 1200 is exactly up to such a thing (know
- how slow jpg decoding is on a 020 or 030?) Face it guys, if there is
- going to be such a thing, its going to be produced by someone large, who
- can make it cheaply, Amiga Tech has not shown that they can do that.
- Secondly why would a chain try and sell 1200s right now? You speak as
- though the machines come with a decent amount of ram built in, that
- ethernet or a fast modem is built in, and that there is a decent web
- brouser out. Sorry, guy, wrong on all points. Ever compare Ibrouse
- demo or AMosaic to Netscape? Are there any drivers for pcmcia ethernet
- or modem cards? Again no. Listen, I love my A3000, but I know what it
- is, further more I have a good feeling what the Amiga can be. Its best
- use is, and always has been in the field of video production, infact
- thats what I use it for! There is a reason that where I work we use
- Windows NT and Mac WorkGroup servers, for web development Silicon
- Graphics machines, and that our user's and our
- personal computers are Macs; its because the software and hardware
- presence is there! So dont fool yourself, Kmart is not going to be
- selling Amigas, they arnt going to take a risk on something that has
- little U.S. mass market demand.

- Maybe I just applied some common sense, and some expirience in the
- computer field. I love the Amiga, but Im not going to let is cloud my
- judgement
